The Chrome Tour X is Callaway's firmest, highest-spinning tour ball. It's built for better ball strikers who want workability and aren't giving up spin for anything. 4 layers with a urethane cover, so you're getting real control around the greens and the ability to shape shots when you need to.
Callaway redesigned the mantle layer under the cover, making it stiffer so it acts like a spring at impact. The result is more ball speed without increasing compression, which is the trick most manufacturers can't pull off. You get a few extra yards off the tee while keeping the spin profile that makes this ball useful. The Seamless Tour Aero process grinds the entire cover to keep every dimple uniform, so the ball flies consistent no matter how you tee it up. Most balls have distorted dimples around the seam where the two halves meet, which means your ball can fly different depending on orientation. Robot testing showed this one reduces that variation to about 3 feet instead of 15.
